Mellotron restoration-Parts needed

2012-12-14 by loooeeey

Hey everyone,

I've almost had completed a very involved restore on a Mellotron 400S which consisted of rebuilding the cabinet (if anyone needs the dimensions give us a yell). The original one was destroyed somehow, and it came to me mounted in a hospital trolley!

Below is a photo for those of you interested. Keep in mind it's not fully assembled yet.

http://instagram.com/p/Spgz05ncl6/

The front panel is perspex, and the inside will be lit up by a strip of LED's.

The main part I need is the sound selector arm which goes from the selector knob and moves the heads.

I'm also out a belt, but I've been conversing with Markus about that & an SMS 5 and he has me sorted for one of those.
Looking forward to your comments, criticisms and any suggestions you might have!

Have you talked to Martin at Streetly?  If he doesn't have one, it should be fairly easy to fabricate out of some aluminum stock.

Yup, it's good to have the lamp. I'm missing the one from my other 'Tron though!
I'll attempt to make another out of acrylic, does anyone else need one?

He's having a hunt around, but hasn't gotten back with an answer yet.
If Streetly don't have one I think I'll be able to make one. I would rather have the original parts though.

Do you have any shots of it in the hospital trolley? Must be a sight to be
seen! :-) Seriously, it's looking great so far. Speak to Martin at
Streetly about the track selector knob - they were 'off the shelf' parts
(used vol.controls by some amp manufacturers) and aren't that hard to find,
at least in the UK.

No, that's what it shows me, something to with Flickr I think, I do get a brief glimpse of some tron part for a second before. Might be due to me checking my mail on an iPod as well.
