Back!

Back!

2008-02-27 by miceinmymellotron

Hi folks, Wallis here, long time no squeak. Glad to see you're all happily munching away at
the cheese of life.

I'm fine as is dear old M400 151. What with trying to nurse a kit-fixing business into life
and suddenly being in several bands I hadn't got round to the actual technicalities of
jumping ship, i.e. remembering my Yahoo password. All going well, this year I'm actually
making a living and have a nice backlog of work.

The murine references are most appropriate. At Hockley Street Studios we have a mouse
problem- they've been nibbling at cables (all types!!), mixer knobs, even the feet of an ARP
Odyssey that I've just repaired. Little bastards. It's personal now. If they start on my tapes..
Actually, they'll probably wait until she gets some fresh ones..

Once I dismantled a Leslie 700 that I'd left in my Dad's greenhouse to find that the fabric
drive belt had been severed by tiny teeth. Tiny paws then took the stolen threads and
proceeded to weave the most perfectly round nest on top of the Rotosonic drum. Just as
well that they'd disabled the thing by eating through the belt.

Chorale= dizzy mice
Tremolo= minced mice

Incoming joys include 2 more BIRD organs (Yes, I know, there's something wrong with
me..) for my collection of old rubbish and a pair of Cadey multitracks to look after and
indeed use. You'll probably find the Cadeys interesting, they're British 2" tape machines,
one 16 track and one 24 track. Full of valves, apparently made of cheese. Cargo Studios
had a 16 track in the 80s and recorded Joy Division on one amongst others. Full spec and
pics later- I still need to shift them from a garage in Coventry to our place in Birmingham.

Anyway, time to run back up the curtains. I shall now draw a bath. Unimpressed by my
draughtsmanship, the boiler will reward me with a real bath full of lukewarm water.

Love and Scones,

msw

They have been in my MK-VI, shitting all over everything. I got one
of those traps that really makes them suffer.

That's really not fair. You should imprison them rather than kill them.

is that really necessary?
the answer is, of course, no.

they are looking for food.
imagine next time you reach into the fridge and...

no need to cause suffering.

I think a couple of mouse-hating music-loving cats are called for!

I used the "catch and release" mouse friendly traps for two months.
I caught one and took him for a nice walk up the road to the forest.
He was back in my kitchen drawer the next morning. I caught him again
and took him for a nice long drive to far away forest.

After that, he (or one of his friends) started getting the bait out of
the nice trap without getting caught. A week later, he chewed through
a water line and flooded the kitchen. I finally got him with a
regular nasty "killer" mouse trap. It looked like the same old mouse
to me.
