Looking for plate plugin recommendations

Looking for plate plugin recommendations

2012-07-14 by Sean

Hi all.

Looking for recommendations on plate reverb plugin for a PC environment. Specifically Sonar Producer X1. Not sure how much the particular program matters.

It doesn't need to be anything fancy, just a great classic plate sound. Large Hall settings with early reflection removed just isn't doing these five layers of tron noise justice.

Thanks.

Jim Licka owns a Streetly M4000. I haven't determined from the video whether he is playing the M4000 in it though, because I didn't see the panel ?

Hey, Sean. Let me know if you find something good. I've often toyed with the idea of building one, but my attic apartment just doesn't have the room for it.

Me too please. doesn't matter what platform.

That coincidental. I need to come up with a plate sim. that is good to vocals I have been working on building a good one for years. My Brother in Law is in metalwork and he has been ready to order me a piece of spring steel punched and sized to whatever spec I need. I have not been able to come up with the proper type, depth and dimensions. yet. I tried a plain piece of 3x3 and it was ugly. I am going to use a Neural agonizer pcb for interface electronics. I found this great woodworker named Pete Borella to do the cabinet.

Plate reverb plugin for a PC environment - The universal Audio is about $600 with the DSP card. Probably worth it. http://www.uaudio.com/store/reverbs/emt-140.html

Thanks. I looks like something I may use more than once. Still need to get a real one, can't rent one locally anymore.

Re: Looking for plate plugin recommendations

So far I've come up with nothing concrete. I hear some buzz about a plugin offered by Lexicon.

The UA one is the one I keep hearing about, but installing an extra board in the drummer's computer is currently out of the question, so will have to make do with second best.

Keep the recommendations coming! My recorded Mellotron tracks live and die by the reverb, and right now they're dying!

Sean,

I haven't heard anything as good as Nebula. There's a free version, but the full paid version is worth the price.

An extremely powerful plugin, with no real competition.
