M400 Serial # 554

M400 Serial # 554

2012-06-26 by dan.pluta

Hello! I just joined the group after Gino told me about it at NEARFest. I am the owner of a M400. It was given to me several years ago by the original owner who purchased it in the early 70s. It had been sitting in a shed and then a damp basement for years and mice made it into a good cozy home. I think he retired it from action sometime in the '80s. I have it in my studio now …I am the keyboard player in Carpe Nota (carpenota.com) …but it is in a state of disrepair and unplayable, but looks totally cool. I haven't explored restoring it as I just assume it would be a very costly proposition to do so and instead opted for Mellotron samples (Don't yell at me:). I do love the instrument though and am a huge progressive rock fan. Well…one more Mellotron accounted for:)
