Gary Barlow?

Gary Barlow?

2012-05-19 by Mike Dickson

My eyes could have been deceiving me, but Mel and I watched last night's Graham Norton Show from BBC 1 on which Gary Barlow (formerly of Take That) and Will Smith (formerly funny) duetted on the latter's rap of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air...with Barlow playing the Memotron on his knees.

Like I say...my eyes could have been deceiving me.

No they weren't deceiving you Mike!
Strange.

Will Smith made some derisory remark about the sound. Proof - if any is needed - that the man is now a twat.

In fact "Take That" have used tron flutes on a couple of theirs recent hits, so I wouldn't be surprised if the source for these were the Memotron.
Indeed, Mk2 flutes seem to be on everything atm, including the new "Kracked Earth" album so I hear... Teehee! (shameless plug).

Will Smith always was a twat.
He can't act without resorting to cliche, can't sing, doesn't write any of his own material, and has to sample other people's songs whole for just about anything that comes out.
If that weren't bad enough, he's a rude, obnoxious, loud-mouthed jack-ass who needs to be the center of attention in public restaurants. A one way ticket to 7 mile road in Detroit at about 11:55 pm would cure him of himself.

As far as I'm aware Gary Barlow also owns a Streetly M4000. As it happens my ex-girlfriend's sister was at a Take That gig in Birmingham a few years ago where he announced from the stage that he had bought himself a Mellotron that day.. she thought she was possibly the only person in the audience to whom that meant anything whatsoever..
