What is the current machine count?  I wonder how many are still missing?

Sorry for my ignorance, but how many were built, and does the m400 figure include the EMI machines>

Hi all-

Yeah, he also lists it as an M400S. I thought the
"S" suffix meant it has the SMS motor control, but in
the blurry picture I think I see the top of a CMC-10
card. Weird.

Authorities are currently searching under Blechta's cellar floor for a number of missing Mellotrons. Reportedly, they were only a few years old when they were last seen.

Hmmmm!

Some grainy 8 mm footage of what actually happened there is thought to
exist - or that's the rumor among certain collectors.

Hmmmm!

They'll never find them...

Pierre Veilleux had 14 at one time and I know that he cannibalized some of them. Wonder if he has a record of the serial numbers. There are a lot of mellotrons still ranging free out there in the wild.

Okay, okay, I'll come clean. Several years ago Martin, JB and I moved them to a safe spot somewhere in Paris (Ontario) because the Musician's Union was getting too close to discovering that I had hidden them. This really weird albino guy in a "Live Music Is Best" t-shirt came over one night and scared the crap out of me. That was the final straw.

Hmmmm...feral Mellotrons. Is it true they eat tape to
survive?

I have heard that many feral Mellotrons have been known to be infested with the dreaded EMI tape worm. you can tell them because the look a little rough around the edges. Should you come across one, before bringing it home, have it checked by an expert. And when handling it, always wear rubber gloves.

There is a rumour of an M300 and MKII in Burlington, Ontario. My
youngest brother met a guy in a local pub there who claimed to
have 'em. He didn't get a name and never saw him again!
