John- I had a Hammond Porta-B , my first organ and I understand it was basically an L that had been made portable- it was great, I never should have sold it. The L series was good enough for Keith Emerson (although he stuck knives in his. You can get a foldback modification that makes the upper register more like a B.

I just recently bought an L 111 for $50. in great shape. I've been playing it alot and educating myself on it. I wired a line out jack on it and increased the gain at the power amp.
