I have a confession to make. I'm currently "responding" to my publisher's edit for my next novel, and I actually wrote a sentence yesterday that came out: "He was a grey-haired, wiry guy with a big nose named Barry."Fortunately, I caught the error.;) ;)RickAnd happy holidays to all you tossers!
Interesting! That might have been the best part of the book. The story of a
guy with a nose for mystery.
"...they were partners, of course, and he depended on his nose. He had
named the nose Barry, in honor of his nose's ability to sniff out
clues. Barry used to sniff glue. But now, after building an intolerance to
Toluene, Barry finally had the scents to turn his talents to fighting crime.
Yes, it was true, Barry had ditched the glue to go for the
clue.
"Barry new he was a big nose. His partner's love of gin over the years had
changed him. However being large and veiny had its advantages... too many to
count, in fact. Barry knew he was lucky; lucky because his partner was a
detective and not a staff obstetrician in some senior citizens home. That
would have sucked...
