Local luthier story:
I found my mandolin at a local mom and pop music store. It is handmade, signed by its maker and he wouldn't take a penny more than $185 for it and it is a true work of art. It also sounds better than all the expensive stuff I've had to rent over the years at work. Like my tron, it won't leave the house.
