When I was 12 years old my Dad took me to see Prokofiev's Peter and The
Wolf at Birmingham Town Hall. The narrator was Diana Rigg in a white leather
jumpsuit and she was?just 6 feet from me.? If I had reached puberty
all hell would have broken out.?

I also heard Rachmaninov's Sheherazade for the first time that night and
never looked back.
