My personal (of units produced) remains the Mark V.
Had the opportunity to purchase a new one for $7500 in about 1977, which
might as well of been 7.5 million to a collage student!
Last night we saw the Australian tribute band to Pink Floyd perform an
amazing show to a delighted crowd. With faithful duplications of songs from Atom
Heart Mother to the Wall, they basically never missed a trick. Incredible laser
light and CGI animations, including a return of a flying pig and kangaroo made
for a laughable but delightful entertainment experience!

M4000
Mellotron MkVI
Mellotron MkII
Chamberlin M1
Chamberlin 600
Chamberlin 300
Chamberlin Riviera
Mellotron 400
Mellotron MkV
Mellotron Mk1Wow! A Mellotron dominated favorites list. Not much room for anything else. How would one break this down?- Mellotrons as a category of instruments?- M400's as the most abundant?- MkII's as the most aesthetically desirable?- M4000's as the most practically desirable?- T-550's as the most rarest?Perhaps two favorites lists: One with Mellotrons as a general category among other keys; the other exclusively tape replay instruments.
