Yeah, for that price the buyer could have gotten a fine piece of
hardware with 24 sounds and would have had enough cash left over to
put a nice synth or a Hammond XK-1 on top.

I'm not sure we have an equal understanding of the exchange rate and
shipping costs. Still, the M4000 is the way to go. By the way, I will soon be
selling two very nice Mellotron 400s on eBay. They are far superior the one that
was just sold, but will go for a much better price. Both are fully updated with
and electro-mechanically fully updated. Both have SMS-5s and two speed switches
(though not mounted through the control panel face plates. The white one was has
a pretty good history (played by Chicago and a few other well know 70s bands.)
The other one was wretchedly tortured (updated) by Sound Sales and then
painted by a blind troll with a can of black paint and a broom ( and probably a
brain full of LSD). Of course I have made it even better by fixing everything
inside but leaving the outside intact. I may actually paint it outside, the
inside is done... But it is so weird that I have grown to love it.
So look forward to lots of Mellotronia on ebay.
