Thanks, Bernie!  I've been looking around and have pretty much set  myself on the Super Fuzz clone from build your own clone, as I've seen multiple demos where it captures a number of the different sounds I'm after.  I'll try to check it out.

I recommend the Wattson FY-6 Classic Fuzz. I have one of the originals that was labeled "Superfuzz". It looks and sounds exactly like my old bluish-grey Univox. I've tried some other Superfuzz clones and, to me, they didn't make the grade.
