I haven’t been able to compare it to anything, but I read that the Memotron works with CD-roms and loading times. They don’t sell Mellotrons in the Netherlands (also no digital ones).
I’m very impressed with the sounds and the playability, but you got to know that I never played any other sort of Mellotron before. I wanted to buy the mini at first, but decided to go for the M4000d. I wasn’t really able to afford it and should have gone for the mini, but I will just live on water and bread for a few months now ;)
It’s my first keyed instrument after playing the guitar for many years, so I have to learn to play it in a nice way. It’s great fun!
