I'm with Gino on this one, as one side feels louder than the other. I did not audition the track in mono, as that would give a little more indication about the process involved.

I have done the tape echo live, using a 1/4" reel-to-reel. One side dry the other the delayed echo. That does work awesome for spanning Gino!

Your double tracking could be spill
BIg plate reverbs can mess up sound like that too.

Sounds like they are doing the same here. Listening closely I heard the right side first then the left causing this "spanning" effect. That's my take.

A question for those with talented ears: I'm going to put some Tron down on a tune recorded by a mate, and I was hoping to get a sound similar to that which Bob Ezrin pulled off on Caroline Says II on Lou Reed's Berlin.
