The Mellotron Group

So I experienced my first cycling mishap tonight (that didn't take long)... I cycled from station 1 to 6, I heard a loud high pitched squeal, and some of the tape was misaligned on the rear drum.

So my question is,,,, should I try try to manually roll the drum back to station 1 hoping the tape straightens itself out and realigns?
