Completely true, trons don't like to be ignored. In my case, the rocks (which were pinch rollers) badly need replacement. Also, a previous owner, for some unknown reason, hacked (literally, with a sharp object) at the nylon sides of the pinch rollers, leaving divots in the plastic. I have no idea what the intention was in this matter. Removal of tape debris or (god forbid) oiling? I just don't know. Needless to say, many of the pucks don't turn evenly, and most of the roller surfaces are uneven. I have taken them apart, cleaned the bearing surfaces inside & out, which helps for a while. Thanks to Dr. Frank for past advice in this matter. But pinch roller replacement is due, as soon as I can
afford it.

To clarify, if all the components were at optimum performance, you can leave a 'tron for a few weeks and just turn it on and it will sing. That's rarely the case though!
