Hi all- Okay, ELP's horns were okay, but their "Fanfare" was 4 minutes too long. As a teen prog enthusiast, most of their "Works" album sets disappointed me. I hated "Pirates". After "Brain Salad Surgery" I expected more pure synthesis, more space. I didn't get it (pun intended). To be fair, I will give "Works" another listen soon. -Bruce D. ________________________________ From: Gary Brumm <gabru@comsec.net> To: "newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com" <newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 1:03 AM Subject: RE: [newmellotrongroup] When Horns Go Bad Sorry Bruce…there was nothing at all wrong with ELPs horns. That said….good rendition Mike! I don’t think the Mellotron horns are quite up to the task though I liked your arrangement! The horns went good! ELP's horns are the ones that went bad. -Bruce D.
