It sounds really fantastic. The old cello sound is one of those classic sounds you want to have, but is really in a pretty awful state as far as actual playability is concerned. It doesn't feature in much that I do really because of that. The sound is great but it's all over the map. (Though the fact that Noel G played it microtonally flat throughout Wonderwall has maybe more to do with his tin ear than any failings on the part of the Mellotron)

I have 'relative pitch' days and 'hypercritical' days, depending on whether I've had to tune a Rhodes or some such thing. Especially the last octave or so. Hmm... PLINKY...
