The Mellotron Group

We have a lot of reels'o'tape and occasionally we would trawl though some undisturbed stuff and find a gem somewhere on a reel.  Maybe an entire recording, an unused or little used copy master, a better transfer, a clearer note we can lift and insert as a replacement and sometimes a gem like the Sad Strings.  In the days of analogue this particular recording was abandoned due to too many errors and glitches but digital editing allowed us to create a new set of violins that has been very popular.  They sound fragile and mellotronic but needed coaxing into life.  And all because we listened to an overlooked 1/4" reel lurking in a pile!  Les sat on a lot of stuff.
