Hey Mike, Can you (or maybe Martin) tell us how earlier generations of these tapes were "found"? Streetly seems like a small company so I was curious......I'm not being a smart ass just thought it might be an interesting story. :) Gary From: newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com [mailto:newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Mike Dickson Sent: Monday, July 18, 2011 10:13 AM To: newmellotrongroup@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [newmellotrongroup] Subject= Re: M4000D nice review with photos On 15/07/2011 13:02, feline1973 wrote: Mike, examples of where the Streetly tape library mentions explicit improvements to the original sounds... (not that I'm saying these don't sound like improvements - but if purists are going to carp about any remastering of the M4000D sounds...) Woah, Hang on there. The first two refer to earlier generation copies being found - not some weird re-hacking of the sounds to make them sound 'better'. They have better fidelity but are in themselves untouched. That's totally different to the 'improvements' we were speaking about.
