What I can't remember is whether it would have been Mk2 brass or Mixed Brass B. I rather think it was the latter.

Yes, it was. I ordered one fairly early on (1973) and they changed the standard set just as they shipped mine. It came with cello/violins/flute and I remember being disappointed about not having brass -- at first.
