Retraction on the responses below.
You really mucked-up (to put it gently) the assembly of the track
selector, Frank. It appears upside-down, which would offset it to the inside of
the frame. Does the headblock line up in any way like that?

There is only one other observation I can make, then give up on this.
Unless the camera lens is causing a distortion, the frame may be bent. Fix
it, then proceed.

Well, okay, the spillbox needed to be mounted on the new brackets.

Another good guess. That wasn't a goof. I wasn't to that point yet. There
is an ovious assembly mistake in the first photo.

Nope, but you're getting close. The clips are not required for the machine
to operate correctly.

It would be much easier to put the headblock on if the W clips were
installed first.

That's why I suspected you were merely being lazy. So find the error.
Hint: Something in the first picture is wrong. If you don't look at a 400 a
lot, you'll not likely see it. I'm sure Martin saw it right away. It was
not critical, but the machine could not work correctly as is was.
Well, it certainly wouldn't produce much of a signal without the
headblock!Message
