For anyone interested in a 19" Telco-type rack, check out www.meci.com, part #160-0239. It's a 91" tall aluminum tapped telco rack for $59.95...can't beat that.

Hey Ken. We use these 24" racks (or something very similar) at work for telco inverters. The number you gave comes up as a 24" standard instead of 19". Was there a 19" with a number close to that one? LH

From: <bigd@...> FYI: you have to drill those into the floor or a base or they will tip over. Jim ---- I actually had one of the 19" racks similar to this before the ones I use now. Yes, they must be bolted to something. I made a nice base from a 2 X 8 a little wider than the rack and about 25 inches deep. It gave the unit a nice sturdy base yet left it portable (as portable as these things get). :) LH

I'll have to check the flyer... I don't have it in front of me right now. Maybe we need 24" mounting rails for the MOTM! (just kidding!)

Just for clarification here, there are three "standard" size racks. The most common are 19" for data center type stuff and 23" for telco stuff. Some 23" telco racks have even hole spacing which is not compatible with EIA 1.75" per U hole spacing. Then there are 24" racks which are for certain types of data center type equipment. I personally have no idea what but probably a tape loader bot. Note that these dimensions (19", 23", etc) are not the total width of the rack, but the center to center dimension of the mounting holes plus 5/8" or so. -Cary
