I was able to play all the files using a little crappy freeware player. The
filters sounded great, what I could hear of them. I hear this horrible,
horrible clipping distortion in 90% of the files on the MOTM site, including
these. I mean really really bad.

Does anyone else hear this? Is it just my crappy player? If so, I'll get
another one. If not, we all need to chip in and figure out how to help Paul
get clean files up on the website, cause those are some of his best
advertisements.

is beautiful!

Your browser may be "cooking" the files (thinking that they're text and 
inserting CR's before every LF). You can roll your own stripper (uncooker) 
or just grab this:
