Wire clarification

Wire clarification

1999-06-16 by Paul Schreiber

Sorry, I'm not thinking in a linear fashion today!

I *have* wire. The issue is that all the stripping/tinning/twisting
is machine done. It is *quite difficult* to strip RG-174 coax. It's a
tricky process:

a) strip off outside insulator to the braid
b) using a sharp pick, carefully "dig out" the inner conductor
c) tin the braid
d) strip off the inner insulator to correct length, then tin inner wire

The machine does all of this in about 600ms.

So us eager beavers could get the 420s starting to ship in about a week, as
long as we are willing to strip the coax ourselves?

Count me in!

I have an automatic wire stipper here at work currently dialed in for
Nortel NT-735, which is a similar diameter. Although you still have
to manually shove each wire into the end of the stripper......
