JBarlow, and everyone else,
  The vocal/vowel patch from Ah was    saw osc into a lowpass which is being 
very slightly modulated by a triangle wave tuned three octaves and a fifth 
above the input wave's frequency.
I didn't play too much with the patch, but I found that a little res helps 
too, and the sounds come from when you manually sweep the cutoff of the 
filter.  A certain thin range of the filter's sweep gives the most "vowelly" 
sounds, it would be interesting to know what the frequency relationships are. 
 Try this into a hipass or bandpass too...?
