MOTM EG Times

MOTM EG Times

1999-06-07 by Tentochi

I hope I haven't missed this somewhere else. What is the minimum attack
time on the MOTM EG? Some people site (sp?) one of the reasons for Moog's
popularity is its fast attack times. A recent SOS article claims that the
Technosaurus Selector's EGs are amazingly fast.

Also, what are the other min and max times for the MOTM EG if someone has
already measured these? Also, I don't think a sampler is the best
measurement tool (at 48kHz), although this is how SOS performed their tests.

Thanks!
Todd

The min. attack is about 300uS, about 5 times faster than a Minimoog.

The Max attack is about 5sec. Newer pcbs may have a small mod (not easily
done on current pcb)
to increase this to around 9 seconds. (Charging the cap towards +12V instead
of towards +15V)

The Decay/Release mins are also about 350uS, and the max. times around 12
seconds.
