General Update

2000-07-26 by Paul Schreiber

1) VC Lag: panels painted, getting screened. PCBs going out next week.
Looking like Aug. 16th or so
to begin shipping. Note: possible parts shortage on DG213DJ switches. If you
haven't ordered yet, you'd better
hurry!

2) Next up will be the VC Pulse divider, followed by the (in)famous AC/DC
mixer.

3) Received dBx chips for testing the Env. Follower.

4) As stated earlier, having to delay '300 and '700 kits a few more days.

5) Also, Electronic Musician has asked for a review unit (as has SOS). Will
work on these as time permits.

6) '101: having to struggle with parts issues. Log pots becoming next to
impossible to get unless you buy 600
at a time for $5ea and wait 13 weeks. But I'll figure it out. I may
're-issue' the '100. I do have about 30 pcbs
left. I could make a small run of say 40 '100s and just push out the '101.
Thoughts?

7) Lots of stuff is jamming the pipeline for the fall. Not having TI DSP
work is going to help tremendously!
(will miss the $$$, though).

8) Flat rails: protos going to Moe when I get them. I *did* order the 8-32 x
1/4 black screws so they should
be here in about 10 days. I will sell there seperate (100 per bag for around
$7, no firm price yet).

9) Please refrain from posting about *me* on AH. Post about MOTM all you
want. Just let me quietly do my job.

General Update

a) Paul H. starts his rehab tomorrow. Lets hope he can get back to normal
life quickly.

b) I haven't bothered his associates since his stroke about shipping anything,
but this week I will gather up the kit orders and see what can go out. The
large panel order is due this week, which by the following week means all
the kits on back order should ship out.

If you have parts shortages, just email me. Paul H. was the "double-checker"
for the kits. Don't get all excited, just let me know if there is an issue.

c) the first 10 MOTM-650s are shipping this week to brave "beta testers" :)
While they are testing out the firmware, I will be building up all of the other
modules. I will start charging credit cards for these. Some of the orders were
from a LONG
time ago. I will see if there is newer credit card info on file. I expect to get
some invalid cards,
so you can help out if you placed an order way in the past, call me at
817-281-7776 and
let me know newer card info.

There will be a *preliminary* manual in PDF up on the site by Wed PM. It will
not
be complete, but it will have enough to get going. I have over $16K in parts
bills that are
due by April 1st, so you can guess my priority :)

The user interface is straight-forward. I will ship the unit in a state so that
95% of the folks
can use it "out of the box" without changing 1 thing.

d) also, the Frac module parts are all due in Friday, so that next week these
will get built as well.

The next 2 weeks will be NAMM-like in the intensity level. Bear with me as I do
the 18-hours days
routine.

Fingers crossed that he'll be well! :-) Michael.
