List Links :~)

List Links :~)

I for one appreciate the links provided by avid MOTM'ers! If you don't want
to take the time to check out, thats your perogitave. I love the low-scale
adventure for my eclectic "gear and studio knowledge" side and would love to
see a link every time it is related to a discussion on the list. We can
sometimes get a much fuller picture of the current discussion on the list or
to see gear with features we would like to see incorporated into MOTM. Just
my opinion!

Double your monthly fee's with a DSL and your problems are solved. Music
downloading is insane on this type of connection. TW

Erm All !

Let's quote some, and comment :

>Please do include links, but do describe what is pictured or
>mentioned there .

I have NOT spoken against links, on the contrary, i think they are an
integral part of the whole internet thing, and as such very
interesting and even necessary . I have around 200MB of html etc in
an offline cache sytem called Nearsite, and another 400MB or so
archived . I have been known to provide links, if asked for . And
if relevant i do include these in my own posts . My point was :

>I for one do not read my email online but offline, so i have no clue
>what this is all about, and i'm not going to log on every time a
>link is included .

What this means is : quoting a link without any context is pretty
useless to some people, and it has even nothing to do with having not
enough time, or finding it not worthwile to go see . Say i download
my mail and put it on a laptop to go and read it in the garden . What
relevance would a mail like this have to me then, as the brand and
type of that ancient flanger, or whatever, is not mentioned . Are
you going to answer me then that i'd better get a GSM with internet
connection at half a buck a minute ?

What's a DSL line ? Remember i'm not from the US :-)

I might get a cable modem connection sometime in the future, but my
yearly subscription has been paid for, and the cablenetwork was not
enabled when my fee was due, so . And at this time, i have no real
problems with my internet connection at all, thanks .

Let's open another can of worms : Downloading music ? MP3's ? Ha .
Useful, but that's all . Quality is not good enough for me to go
shelling out my hard earned money on the commercial schemes all those
greedy industry bozos or mindless "Hurray" journalists suck out of
their pens without thinking . I said useful : good to spread "the
word", but surely not good enough to replace the CD or even vinyl .
Then there's that DVD-music thing, Said to be "MoBetta" than CD .
Another carrier ? Are we then supposed to buy MP3's for use in the
walk-things and the car, and again as DVD for the home, after
coughing up for the cd reissue . Cause we all will want all these
golden oldies remastered at 24/96, won't we ;-) And we won't be able
to copy them as MP3's cause of the spoilers ;^)

Aaah, it feels good to be a grumpy old fart at times ;^P

And remember, dj-kids :

Keep 'em oscillating :)
