just to play devils advocate, have you looked at the buchla "lightning" ? 
from what i can gather, it does the same sorts of things as the "dimension". 
having not used either unit, i couldn`t venture to guess which might be 
"better" but at least it gives you another avenue to consider.......

I checked out the Buchla at one point; the price was VERY high.  Can't quite 
remember now but I believe it was over $2500.
