If I remember correctly, it was an Ultra Dual VCA: separate lin/log inputs,
panning, cross-fading, and mixing. Very very stable, very difficult kit.

Hey all,

What's the next VCA design coming around and when? I'm debating whether to
buy a second 110 (with a second ringmod I may not use much) or wait for
something else...

From an e-mail back in late January, Paul S. reports "May-ish". Price range
$189-209. (See e-mail thread subject "ATTENTION: Quad VCA still
available!".)

O.k. Anyone remember when it might come out? THanks Ken!

David.

This is the information I last recall reported about the upcoming Ultra
VCA. Much of this was cut and pasted from the actual announcement to the
MOTM list from Paul. I would apologize for the plagiarism. However, I
wouldn't mean it. <snicker>

Ultra Dual VCA / panner - with lin/log inputs (separate!),
panning, cross-fading, and mixing. Simulation shows
that it's about a factor of 8 better that the '110 VCA,
which ain't no slouch. Yes, it has LEDs! One feature is
the gain linearity is 20mv max over a 10V range or 0.2%.
Most VCAs are about 3-5% linearity. This makes for precise
left/right panning and sound localization. Plus, I dare you to
find a dual VCA module with better specs. No CA3080s here!
All discrete, using matched low-noise cascaded stages. Yet,
only 2 trims (for DC offset). Did I mention 2 different types of
overdrive? Difficulty: It is a 10/10 kit.
Be prepared: it's expensive. Kit will be in the range $189-$209.

Last reported ship date: "on the drawing board"

Thanks everyone for the info! I'm sure Paul will chime in with how far down
it is in his pile of upcoming modules... ;)
