Anything from +5V to +10V should work. Exact value not important.

Yep. All you can get is Gates. Complain to Kenton.

trigger question & pro-2000 fun

2000-02-13 by J. Larry Hendry

I have spent a large portion of today exploring the vast capabilities of my
Kenton pro-2000 and getting it tweeked up for a multiple voice MOTM system
(I need more VCAs Paul). As a part of the process, I realized that I can
control the amplitude of the trigger pulse, gate or whatever else assigned
to the aux outputs. I have all my gates set for + 5 volts. However, the
trigger is just a scaling thing rather than voltage. So, I am about to
pull my scope out to measure the amplitude of the trigger pulse, and then
realized, "I don't know what it should be."

So, I have a generic trigger question and one specific to the Kenton
pro-2000.

The first one is easy. What voltage is correct for a trigger pulse? I
know gate signals seem to vary from 5 to 15 VDC, with 5 being appropriate
for MOTM. What about those pesky triggers? What is right for MOTM? Do
other synth EGs require different voltage triggers?

The second question is only for pro-2000 users who have programmed more
than 2 voices from a pro-2000. I have successfully programmed the third
voice from aux outputs, but can find no way to get a trigger out for the
third voice. I can get the CV and gate, but no trigger (except the ones
for voice A or B).

Lastly, it seems that once I get my MOTM-800s modified to work with gate
only, the pro-2000 is capable of supporting 5 basic voices if you do not
need any extra aux voltages for anything. Aux 1 through 6 can be assigned
for 3 more gates and 3 more V/oct outputs. Cool. I have been having a
blast today with aux outputs 3 through 6 assigned to various controllers
and plugged here and there. My expression pedal has turned into a quasi
wah-wah routed into that crazy 420 FM input.

Thanks Paul. Glad to know I was not missing the obvious on the pro-2000.
