MOTM-650 odd behavior on group 1

MOTM-650 odd behavior on group 1

2013-09-01 by <johnspeth@...>

My MOTM-650 GATE1 output is acting funny.  I'm seeing a 400 usec negative pulse every 250 msec while a MIDI note on is active.  The 12V output is high except for the unwanted pulse.  The low end of the pulse 0V.  It's making my env gen retrigger every 250 msec.  I have it configured for 1/1/1/1 receiving on MIDI channels 2,3,4,5 respectively and this problem doesn't appear on GATE2, GATE3, or GATE4.  All gate outputs are set for Normal (not STrig).  Measurements were made with a scope.

Is there some operational mode that I'm not aware of that permits this kind of behavior?

Thanks, John

If the Arpeggiator is assigned to group 1,it could behave this way. Might
want to check and be sure it is set to off.
Having fun with mine right now with that configuration. Even when extrenal
clock is selected, it seems te revert to the internal pulse when nothing
is sent to the ext. clock input.
Fun module.

Thanks, Terry.  You're right.  I reset the default settings and the problem went away.  I confirmed your hypothesis: Turned on the arpeggiator and problem reappeared.  Now I know.  Those confounded limited UI's are a pain in the way the multitude of settings are hidden.
