MOTM-420 mockup pic

1999-03-30 by Dave Bradley

In response to Paul's hint, here is a mockup image of the MOTM-420 for your
amusement. I suspect that the labelling on some of the pots will change
pending Paul's approval. I was real tempted to label the LED "HEY MORON",
except that I'll probably WANT to run it that way some of the time!

Still hoping to hear from someone on my MOTM-120 post!

Beautiful mock up Dave!

Hey! Hows about one of those dual green and red LEDs. The green one for "ON"
(written below the LED), the red one for "MORON" or "MORE ON" (written above
the LED).

Just a thought,
JB

JB is closer to the truth with MORE ON.

The LED glows all the time: the intensity of the glow is proportional to the
input level.

I am just wondering if this is useful. Comments??

This is the way I like all my LEDs (proportional to the level of audio or CV,
not just a simple on/off LED). Is it useful? Of course it is! It makes the
module fun to watch while you're standing there like a moron with patch cords
in your hands wondering "now what do I want to do?" In other words, it looks
cool, and that's always useful.

I may be a Synth Peon, but I try.

If you're going to make it an "audio indicator," don't label it
CLIP! Unless you're going to get fancy and put a peak detector
on there and change from green to red when it clips.

I don't think so. LEDs are great for ON/OFF indications, but just how MUCH
ON is CLIP? No, I don't care for that.

I agree with that.
