Leaving aside the question of difficulty of getting yr fingers in there to
flip the switches,  I pondered what extra versatility you might gain from
them.  The thing that popped into my mind was using the switch as a sort of
on/off for modulation routings.  e.g. you could turn off/on fm to filters
w/o repatching.
This would allow you to make some drastic timbral changes w/o repatching.

Of course, the next question one might ask is how often that would be of
use.  I don't know the answer.  I also think that sometimes (& this may not
be one of them) just having some new & different feature will lead to the
discovery of new & different things to do with it.

Just a thought.
