I found it interesting how insistent he was on having 2x 420's for the MS20 sound. I have one and have been always intrigued of the advantages of having 2. I scanned the archives but didn't see anything on the subject in the past 4 years... what IS the advantage of having 2 and do you run them in parallel when in hi-pass other in low-pass? Thanks!

A Korg MS-20 has *two* filters in series: Low-pass followed by high-pass. So, to be a "true" MS-20 setup, you need the 2 modules.

Wow... that was a fantastic video...

Much more technical than you often get with these sorts of things.

An incredible plug for MOTM as the "train spotting" kids try to figure out what he's using.

MOTM needs a blog and that should get posted there.

Speaking of train spotting, can anyone shed some light on some of the "non-traditional" modules he highlighted at the top of his rack?

Top row is -

1 x Miniwave:

1 x MOTM-510 Wavewarper:

I have one of these and find it’s really useful for creating distortion as well as metal/glass/wood like percussive sounds.

2 x Larry (WiseGuy) Hendry’s JLH-822 modules (I’m pretty sure):

Are there any audio demos out there of 2x420's in parallel vs. a single 420? thanks.

Right, except that it's the other way around (high-pass into
low-pass).
