Try EBay for wire

Try EBay for wire

2009-03-01 by Richard Brewster

I've found good wire on EBay at reasonable prices. EBay sellers often
have wire in smaller rolls. I got some high-quality military surplus
RG-176U coax and only purchased 25 feet. You have to buy a 100-foot
roll from Mouser, etc.. Here's a picture of the coax on my CGS Tube VCA
module:

The cable looks copper in color, because the insulation is clear teflon.

I also found some100-foot rolls of really nice 22 gauge wire with high
temperature insulation in different colors. You do have to know what
you're shopping for, of course.

Thanks Richard. An Ebay search on RG-176U didn't return any hits but the
following did:
RG-17* coax*

yes. i'm sure most of it is a good idea.

however, stay away from Emtel Electronics or ASAPWire. they run (or
ran) a lot of wire auctions.

i bought 3 1000' spools of 24 AWG stranded wire (black, purple, and
orange) from them in December of 2007. ordered it, package arrived
OK, i opened it up and the purple spool had broken in transit. a
broken spool of wire is not totally useless, but is only useful if
you can deal with it being a huge PITA, and would be completely
useless if i were using an automatic wire strip/cut machine.

i don't think it was packed into the box broken. there was no packing
material whatsoever in this box. just three heavy spools of wire.

i have attempted to contact them 5 times via email about this, and
have never received a reply. i also tried calling the phone number
that was on the UPS tag and it was some angry old lady that didn't
know what the hell ASAP Wire was.

I have a lot of good silver wire for power supply runs that I got off eBay.
