Great idea, Larry. I'm sure there is a place on the OneList MOTM community
page that this could be uploaded to. Then we could just point newbies to the
link when the question comes up.

Larry, I've looked at your list and it contains pretty much verbatim my
somewhat mangled syntax "Single unit wide reversible attenuator". You might
edit it to say something like 1U reversible attenuator, else folks will
wonder what a wide reversible attenuator does, as opposed to a narrow
reversible attenuator<g>.

UNofficial future MOTM list

2000-01-24 by J. Larry Hendry

This question about what new modules are coming surfaces on a regular basis
and deserves a respectable reply. We do owe those new to the list a
response better than "go search the archives." Therefore, I assimilated
all the recent responses from those kind enough to respond into the
attached document. I will be happy to revise this on a regular basis as
information comes across the list and make it available to anyone who
inquires.

If I have overlooked anything or anyone, please let me know. If you don't
like my editing job, then take your best shot at a double fingered
stooge-like eye poke. However, I must warn you, I have practice defending
myself from such stooge behavior.

Please note that I do not want this list circulated about, except within the
confines
of this listserv (onelist.com)

Don't forget, this is a *business* and I do have competition. Plus, as you
know different
circumstances cause the modules release order to shift about. Then,
disgrumbled folks
pound you over the head with it.

RE: UNofficial future MOTM list

Hey, that Word document was a great idea-thanks!

You're right: "Go search the archives" is the kind of lazy, irritating
answer to questions on lists like this that are very off-putting to people,
new & experienced alike. I myself have been the victim of that (not
necessarily on *this* list)-you search the archives for hours, can't find
what you're looking for, and then ask the question in the forum only to have
five cranky people respond with "Go search the archives." In the amount of
time it took them to type that retort, they could have answered my question
in most cases. (Plus most of these archive search engines leave a LOT to be
desired).

An Email list like this is very similar to a conversation. Would you have a
conversation with someone and every time they asked a question, snap at
them, "Why don't you go to the library"?

If we want to encourage others to join us in our little corner of heaven, we
should endeavor to be helpful. Again, not that people on this list aren't
helpful-I guess I'm thinking more of "another" list dedicated to analog
synthesizer enthusiasm. My experience here with the MOTM crowd has been that
there are a lot of very clever, very supportive folks on this list. And
since most of us keep off-topic inquiries to a reasonable level, we've
avoided all that hostility as well.

Thanks Dave. Yes, or for the sake of ease to update, I could just keep the
most current version here on my harddrive and mail it out to anyone asking.
But, once I get this refined I would be happy to post it up somewhere as
you suggested. However, I want to make sure Paul has no objection to that
information being "posted" for general consumption since at times the dates
have been known to change a little.

You got it Dave. This list was PURELY plagiarism and I am proud of it.
Please if anyone see something I have overlooked or poorly described, then
send me a note with a couple of knyuk, knyuks and I will fix it right up.

Absolutely

Since I am choosing to keep this "unofficial" list for use only by those on
motm@onelist, I will make every attempt to update "release dates" based on
any information that you send to the list. If at anytime you see something
on this list that you object to, please let me know and it will be removed.
If you want any of the release dates changed at this time, please just let
me know. There is nothing on this list that has not already been
circulated in postings to the list. I simply copied it all into one place.
Unless you state otherwise, any information that you post officially
announcing a new module or an expected ship date will be used to update the
list. The whole idea was to have a single location for people to read and
get excited about modules. However, if it ever becomes something else
(i.e. a problem) I will ditch it.

Thanks Paul.

Since I an somewhat new to MOTM, I have to ask...
What is DOMOAS? Does it stand for something?
Is this sequencer going to be anything like a Moog 960, or am I totally
off track?

Re: UNofficial future MOTM list

The original sequencer of Paul's dreams was called MOAS for Mother Of All
Sequencers. I remember Paul said that MOAS might never become a reality
since it would take too long and cost as much as a house (I am
paraphrasing) Therefore, Daughter of Mother Of All Sequencers surfaced
DOMOAS.

I have no idea about the moog 960. But, according to Paul, the DOMOAS will
be like nothing else and very spectacular with LCD readout and ..... some
of you guys that remember more about what features were discussed, pipe up
here.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
