I'm neither buying nor selling MOTM modules, and although I don't mind
seeing some such messages, it's getting to the point where it's hard to pick
out any messages which aren't involved in sales. Would it make sense to
have a separate board for those who are interested in sales?
Yahoo groups don't support "sub"-boards. You'd have to start a new group to do that. And it would probably have a much lower membership, thus reducing it's value.
I find it pretty easy to ignore the stuff that doesn't interest me, as I read this stuff in gmail, and the delete key is right there on top.
I suspect that the recent increase in sales posts is directly tied to the economy being in a shambles. I know that in my case that's true - a few months ago I wouldn't have considered the sale I posted a few days ago. And no-ones buying, btw.

Like a group that discusses only orchids, there is likely to be only
so many messages related to orchids before the group gets kind of
"talked out". This list seems to have gotten to that point in some
respects.
These days there are also bigger fish to fry, importance-wise. A lot
of people are hurting and it will get worse before it gets better.
The delete key is your friend. Don't like what you see ... get rid of
it!

If people could start their for sale posts with a subject line "FS:"
then those posts could be filtered in your email program. I use that
to remove the "Good trader" posts on AH.

It seems to me there's hardly enough traffic on this list to need
filtering by subject line. I'm interested to see what people are
selling, even if I seldom buy used modules.
