Stooge Panel update...
2008-12-15 by Doug Wellington
Hiya everybody, Just a quick update... I'm flying to California tomorrow to donate bone marrow for a leukemia patient. If you're so inclined, I'd encourage you all to check out the National Marrow Donor Program at <http://www.marrow.org>. I've got a lot of things going on in the shop at the moment - everything is coming together nicely for the 808 clone (next run is 200 kits), the 909 clone is in the final design stage (100 kits in the first run), the SID synth cases and panels are in process, and the 606 clone that matches the x0xb0x is in prototype stage. We've got a wood case that replaces the Pactec PT-10 case that is used for the x0xb0x, and there will also be a new folded metal case that will take either the standard x0xb0x controls or the BC x0xi0 modification. Speaking of cases, the updated Gakken SX-150 case mod will be ready for sale in January... I've got a new CNC mill, a PEMserter, a laser etcher, and I'm modifying the paint booth so that I can continue to spray the original MOTM-style textured paint as well as the Nextel (Waldorf synth) paint, and now I'm adding the new MOTM-style powder coat. With the CNC, I'll be able to make any panel you want - just send me a DXF or FPD file, or I can design something for you. (I'll start making the custom stuff in 2009...) I just got the custom isoloc templates for my Leigh dovetail jig (<"http://www.leighjigs.com/isoloc.php">) - with that and the other tools in the shop, I can really customize your analog synth case. (Ask me about custom marquetry too!) I'm still making all the standard Stooge panels, and there will be a new batch of end caps soon. As always, if you order a rack's width of stooge panels, I'll throw in a free set of end caps... Happy holidays! Doug P.S. If you're on Facebook, look me up (Doug Wellington, Tucson, picture has me playing one of my didges), I use my Crackberry to keep my status updated...
