Status/Update

I am in the process of kitting up 30 MOTM-300 VCO sets. This will take me until Thursday (it's about 7,200 individual parts). I will then ship everyone's outstanding orders. (Yes, Gur, even yours!) I will be out of the office the entire week of the 23rd. However, assuming the new laptop arrives and is functional (I hate computers) I should be able to get/send email. At the least, the laptop has enought umph to run SPICE and the pcb layout software. I will not be able to start the '440 filter layout until I get back. But I will have the front panels finished, which is usually the pacing item. So the kitting should go quicker. If you are not a subscriber, *please* place orders (or if you want more than 1 in your subscription) by Jan 28th. This will let me gauge the magnitude of the kitting process. This then gets you kits *sooner*. Everyone but John S. should have received your '320 subscription (John: it's shipping tomorrow!) If not, let me know. It is looking like 2000 is the Year of the Modular. MOTM has raised awareness: Serge is actually working on a website, Blacet is ramping up new kits, Enport is in the 411 section of this month's Keyboard (boo hiss), Nord is working on a new system (bigger boo & hiss) and there is some buzz that Dr. Bob has been seen with patchcords draped around his neck (sigh). But not to dispair: as stated earlier there are plans for 14 new modules in '00, *not counting* the sequencer. Hopefully, the seq will see the light of day in '00. This will depend on the non-MOTM demands on my time. I also plan more website goodies and print ads in MIX, Keybaord and Electronic Musician, and SOS still is waiting for me to send a review unit to London. I suppose competition was bound to happen, it just looks like sooner than expected. But as far as I know, no one is going after the "high-end" MOTM world except Technosaurus, and they are priced way over me so I'm not too worried about them for now. I am amazed every day by your loyal support of my "little hobby": module #800 will ship within 10 days, and customer #100 is expected by the end of the month! The day I started, I told my wife that 150 modules *total* would be a small victory. Now I'm going for 5,000! Paul Schreiber
