Final Synth of Doom module sale
2008-08-22 by Dave Bradley
The final set of modules from the Synth of Doom are now up for sale.
These are all custom or 3rd party modules with Stooge front panels. All
are in excellent physical and working condition except where noted. As
always, please contact me off list!
Modules
1 - Wiard Miniwave. One of only 10 MOTM format Wiards ever built. Contains a ZIF locking socket for switching ROMs. Like the Blacet Miniwave but has space for 1 ROM instead of 2. $300
2 - Synth Systems mults. 16 jacks in 4 groups with link switches. $75 each
1 - JLH-822 V SHIFT. 3rd one ever built, has chicken beak knobs. $300
1 - Oakley OMS-301 VCO. Has the Minimoog core and a neat sounding PWM. $325
1 - Oakley OMS-902 mixer/triple attenuator. $125
1 - Oakley Sample/Slew. Cool restriction knob, has lag built in, and can trigger on rising or falling edge. $250
1 - Blacet Dark Star. This is historic - the very first Stooge module ever built. $300
1 - Wiard Noise Ring. Sickest noisehead module ever. I can't even explain how this thing works, but it shifts bits into a register with controllable chance and change... $325
Fixer uppers
1 - Blacet Time Machine. This module worked fine when I originally assembled it behind its Blacet panel. After converting to MOTM format, there was a short between one of the rails and ground, and I haven't taken the time to troubleshoot. Sold as-is. $150
1 - Cynthia/Buchla quad Lopass Gate. This module really gives you that plucked ringing Buchla sound when you hit it with a sharp transient envelope, along with crosstalk and bleed. This was working fine until recently, but when I tested the other day it had some thumping in one of the modes - perhaps a bit of DC bleedthrough. The switches are not bat handle. Sold as-is. $150
Other stuff
1 - iconic Synth of Doom cabinet with wood rails, PowerOne 1.5A +/-15v supply and distribution system, plus PowerOne 5V supply and single distribution board. See http://www.hotrodmotm.com for images. $1200
1 - crapload of stooge patch cables. I prefer to try to sell these as a set first. Contains 18 - 1 foot, 26 - 2 foot, 25 - 3 foot, 9 - 4 foot, 11 - 5' , 8 - 6'. $300
Stooge panels only - no panel controls or electronics included
2 - 8U sequencer pot matrix panels, drilled. See http://www.hotrodmotm.com/images/CV_Generator_8x4new.jpg The OUT INH hole for the LED was misdrilled for a jack on both. $50 ea.
1 - 1U output bus panel, undrilled. See http://www.wiseguysynth.com/larry/panel/gif/tielines.gif $30
1 - 2U Encore Expressionist breakout panel. See http://www.hotrodmotm.com/expr_panel.htm. The graphics are a little blurry. $10
1 - 7U blank panel. Has no corner holes and a couple of light scuff marks. $50
1 - 3U blank panel $30
1 - 1U blank panel $20
6 - 2U blank panels $25 ea
1 - 2U experimental anodized graphics panel. Used for a print test for an anodizing process we were considering at one point. Free to the first person who orders other panels.
