[motm] Experiment, 53 Sinewaves Synthesize Orchestra

2008-08-16 by Kenneth Elhardt

I had a theory that I thought might work. So after a lot programming,
debugging and refining, I managed to get a mere 53 sinewave oscillators to
generate the sound of an entire orchestra. It could take several times that
many just to synthesize a single sawtooth wave depending on its frequency.
Here at Bahn Audio Systems, we bring you the future, today.

Audio sample of the result here:

OK! So please tell us how you did it, and how long did it take.
