Thanks for the Sale!

Thanks for the Sale!

2008-05-08 by Paul Schreiber

Thanks to everyone for making the sale a great success. Now, the burden is
on me to kit all this stuff up :)

Tomorrow, I will tally up all the kits (and the remaining assembled
modules), and fill out the spreadsheet
of all the parts so I can do inventory over the weekend and start placing
orders for what I need on Monday.

I will have to order front panels for the 700/820/380 for sure, probably a
few others.

I have enough orders placed via PayPal that I do not need to charge any
credit/debit cards until the orders are
about to ship. It will take me a good *4 weeks* to kit these up, and until
the end of June to get the panels in
and ship everything. I am taking a break the first 2 weeks of July, mainly
wife is redecorating (shudder....) and
my daughter is moving to Houston. So, my goal is to ship ALL the kits before
all of this starts up.

Just looking at the pots/jacks/knobs/switches in the closet and in
distribution, I see no issues at all, so the rest of
the stuff is ordinary lead times (I will probably by some ICs via Analog
Devices directly, they ship from
Singapore but usually in 3 weeks the stuff arrives).

Note that these orders will ship at *current* postal rates, but on May 15th
the rates go up again. Orders placed after that will
reflect higher postal rates. The shopping cart does this automatically.

The plan is to kit up in order of reverse demand, get 1/2 way through and
see what I can ship *complete*, then
finish up. If anyone has ordered and will be gone in the last 2 weeks of
June/ up to July 3 and you want
me to hold off, please email me and I will ship after July 15th. Also, if
anyone wants me to charge the order now, also email me.

I think the most pressing needs will be the wire, I will get that ordered
this week for sure as that supplier can be slow
and that is one of the common parts across all kits.

Sorry if this was not clear: I am kitting up all of the kits (old + sale)
all at the same time, and then I will ship
orders from oldest to newest. The #1 time effort are the resistors, I will
start doing these Monday. I can
count all the small stuff while I wait for any panels or pc boards to
arrive. The fastest way to get these
out the door is to do ALL of one kit at a time if I can (if I have all of
the parts). Sometimes, like for the
Hardware, I sit down and do all of the bags at once across the backlog
(because all of them except the '800
use the same hardware, might as well stuff everything at once). Same goes
for the solder bags, I tend
to make all I need in one 'sitting' rather than ping-pong back and forth.

Trust me, I have this down to a science. It's just tedious, a bit boring,
and everyone wants a perfect score :)
