New Robotmakers video / Compact Phasing "A"

2007-11-14 by rogerpellegrini

Just wanted to let you know that the latest Robotmakers video is up
on Youtube. The last one has been watched and purportedly enjoyed by
some 11,000 folks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbU-jlPaWoE

Modern Android Cybernaut features:

- closeup of an actual Gerd Schulte Audio Electronik Compact Phasing
A, with its "Feedback" and "Osc.-Period" knobs going to 11
- MOTM pedal interface controlling Minimoog acting as guitar wah-pedal
- MOTM format Zeroscillators in a Moogerfooger Freqbox mode modifying
guitar
- some dreaded imitative synthesis (at the end of the tune)
- interesting visual effect with laser projected through steam to
form a "tunnel" through which the protagonist walks (ala "Won't Get
Fooled Again" from "The Kids are Alright")
- rhyming of the words "karate" and "tall soy latte"
- dancing modular synth racks (stop motion animation and casters)
- Citizen Kane allusions
- shot on location in the mysterious superterranean lair of the
Robotmakers and the Hamptons

I hope you enjoy it.

Best regards,
Roger

Love those knobs.
If anybody wants to fit them onto his Compact Clone:
AFAIK the original knobs were from Elma, and are still available.
(Collet knobs, with a transparent number skirt attached on the bottom, and a
black stator with white segment fixed to th efront panel below the skirt.
Not cheap, but there are only 4 of them.)

Now 11,001.5! Yes, I count as one and a half...

Where does one get the cool robot toy, Roger? My synth has the nice
Hula Girl, but a robot helper would make world domination - errr, I
mean recording - much easier.

Chub - presently digging a hole for his subterranean lair of evil in
sunny SoCal.

Very glad you enjoyed the video! The star of the Robotmakers is
a "Personal Apprentice". I think a google of that phrase should turn
up a few venues where his clones can be acquired at very reasonable
cost.

Thanks again for watching,
Roger

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
