AC power ground contacting panels ok?

AC power ground contacting panels ok?

2007-10-30 by knight_of_pan

I'm planning to drill a hole in my MOTM-950 panel and install a jack
to power an external +15V/0V Wiard joystick (I installed it in a small
guitar pedal case... I love this thing. I'll post pics soon).

However, the jack isn't insulated from the panel, so the MOTM AC power
ground would be contacting the panel through the jack, and possibly
the other module panels (I have the 950 mounted in the front with the
others right now).

Would this cause a problem?

Thanks in advance,

Cecil

Not really, but you may get some 60Hz ground hum.
