Dirty GND ?

Dirty GND ?

2007-09-27 by randaleem

Hi MOTM'ers!

Quick question for y'all,

Does the MOTM system use a clean/dirty GND? The two GND pins suggest
it, but perhaps not?.

If there is a separate dirty gnd pin, which of the two pins is
considered the dirty gnd? (The one next to -V or the one next to +V?)

Continuing, if there is a dual gnd setup: Do all MOTM modules respect
this division of the return paths?

Thank you,

Randal

There is only one ground. The two ground pins are connected to each
other at each module, and the two ground wires are connected at the
power supply.

The only MOTM modules that use two grounds, are the digital modules
that use 5V.

That is right. Even the digital and analog grounds of modules like the
MOTM-650 are connected together at the MOTM-950 power distribution
board. This easily confirmed by an ohmmeter.
