Modcan B series front panels

Has anybody done front panels of the Modcan B series style for
MOTM/Oakley/Bridechamber modules?

Frank

Hi Frank,

You might post this question to the ModularSynthPanels Yahoo group.
Modcan B panels are the same size as MOTM panels. I'm expecting my
first Modcan B module shortly, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it
fits into my MOTM cabinet. The layout is somewhat different from MOTM,
but just how different I have yet to see. The main differences seem to
be the panel color and the relative locations of jacks and pots. I'm
not sure what you mean by Modcan B series style. The physical panels
are 1/16-inch thick, with bent flanges. The color is kind of white.
There is outline trim. If you were to put a MOTM module into a Modcan B
system, you'd probably just need a power cable adapter. I don't think
you can get a Front Panel Express panel in white.

I thought you were done!? ;-)

I've been tempted by the Modcan B, but between the prices and the color - I just haven't
been able to pull the trigger.

My rack situation is different than the cabinet thing, though. I'm trying to keep all of the
brands in their indigenous formats. So, I might start up a row of MB or have a white patch
in one of my MOTM rows.

It sounds like the mounting holes are the same, but rail clearance might be an issue. I'm
curious, what modules are you guys interested in?

I've shied away from Modcan, due to being fully assembled, and the
different appearance from MOTM. The audio signals are +/- 2.5V, but
that shouldn't present much of a problem. Some of the modules are
appealing. I'm getting a Dual Quantizer 55B. Nothing really
comparable, elsewhere.

I am waiting for the MOTM-730, but the Modcan Clock 53B is a VC clock
divider that looks interesting, too. The VCDO 58B is a very intriguing
Digital VCO.
