Last Kit

2006-10-15 by djbrow54

I just finished assembling my 31st and last MOTM kit, the MOTM-700.
This is the last of the modules I ordered during the sale. I savored
the moment as I tightened up the very last MOTM setscrew.

I decided to buy a second 700 based upon the patches that were posted.
I haven't used this module that much in the past but have had a lot of
fun this evening trying out some of the audio patches.

Thanks Paul for all the pleasure and enjoyment of building your kits
these past few years. I look forward to the new more sophisticated
modules but will miss the smell of solder and the fun of using a
magnifying glass to read those resistor values and try to decipher the
reds from the oranges.

DVM is quicker :)

Some of these resistors the red, brown and orange all look close. Couldn't be my
eyesight....nope.

RE: [motm] Last Kit - resistor values

I have a block of wood with two lengths of wire sticking up at an angle away
from me and about 1.5" apart. (I used S.S. welding rod) This sits on my
bench connected to an autoranging ohmmeter. Grab the resistor, touch it to
the two wires, read the value and stick it into a chunk of styrofoam with
the value marked with a sharpie.

Works great and you can sort through the values really quickly.
